Vehicles are just as personal to us as the shoes on our feet. We choose them for a variety of reasons. Enterprises TV wants to inform readers of some of the safest vehicles on the road.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety released a report which lists the safest and least safe vehicles on the road. Despite all the recalls mentioned on the news lately, vehicles in general are safer now than they were eight years ago. Topping the list of safest vehicles and those less likely to get one killed are:

• Audi A4 AWD
• Honda Odyssey
• Sorrento
• Lexus RS 350 4WD
• Mercedes Benz GL-class 4WD

These vehicles are all in the luxury class or mini van range.  SUVs scored well on the tests by the Institute due to improved electronic stability control.

Unfortunately, some smaller cars did not fare so well in the test.

• Rio
• Sedan
• Hyundai Accent – 4 door
• Chevrolet Aveo
• Hyundai Accent – 2 door
